Bellingham Bay Home Inspection (BBHI) hired me to help launch their new home inspection business. Wanting to showcase this client’s commitment to the local community while simultaneously help them stand out from competitors—the majority of whom use housing related visuals and tones in their brand—we decided to explore visual language rooted in the natural beauty of the Bellingham Bay landscape: its mountains and sunrises, its greens and blues. In this, we captured the attention of prospective clients with the unique beauty of where they live. After all, that’s a key part of why they call Bellingham home.

Instead of creating a brand that hinged upon the image of a house, we wove Bellingham’s iconic scenery alongside modern and youthful colours—more vibrant expressions of the Pacific Northwest’s fresh greens and deep ocean blues. We chose a strong heavy font to convey confidence and competency, but one that included some curvy elements to soften any perceived edge with soft and rounded corners. In this, the brand stands out as refreshingly modern while retaining a sense of friendly strength. As such, Bellingham Bay Home Inspection conveys an approachable and homegrown vibe while standing out as unique and professional to their target audience.
